Description

How to care for your Croton Tamara?

Light

Croton species are those type of plants that love a good amount of light. To let the foliage come out best, Croton Tamara likes to get bright indirect light. In the morning or afternoon some direct sunshine is fine. When you put your Croton in a spot with too much shade the colorful foliage will fade.

Water

The Croton will thrive when the soil is evenly moist after watering and stays slightly damp. Be careful not to over water the plant, as this may cause root rot. Usually watering the plant once a week should be sufficient.

Soil

The best soil for your Croton Tamara is one that is well draining and has some water retention abilities. Our basic aroid soil mixture combined with some clay pebbles would be perfect.

Humidity

Croton species do well in a place with a slightly higher than average humidity level. Try keeping it at a minimum of 60%, preferable a little bit higher. When the humidity drops too low the leaves can become crispy and that would be a shame of the gorgeous foliage.

Fertilisation

The growing season is the perfect time to fertilize your Croton Tamara. In winter time fertilizing is not required. When using a fertilizer always read the instructions on the bottle before using.

Repotting

The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Generally repotting your Croton every year should be sufficient.

Toxicity

The Croton is toxic for humans and animals when ingested.

FAQ
Do you have a health guarantee on your plants?

We co-operate with some of the best nurseries in The Netherlands. Before your plant is shipped out the nursery will check the plant and will only ship out nice looking and healthy plants. Therefore we offer a 14 day* health guarantee on all plants.

If you still think there is something wrong with your plant, whether you think the plant is not healthy, has suffered from transit or doesn’t meet the given standard regarding to pot size and hight as mentioned on the product page, don’t hesitate to contact us via support@plantdynasty.nl. Please always include: photo(s)/video(s) of the plant, a copy/photo of the packing slip and a photo of the box to your email. With this information we can evaluate the situation at best and find a solution soon. Delay in the process might occur if we don’t receive the right information at once. Or it can happen that we are unable to process the claim because we don’t have sufficient information. With the photos and information you have provided us we, together with the nursery, will decide the kind of damage and offer an appropriate solution. This decision is made exclusively by us and the nursery.

* The 14 day count starts on the day the delivery company makes the first attempt to deliver the product to your home. If a second attempt has to be made, or your package has to be send to a parcel shop for you to pick it up, these days will be deducted of the 14 day count. Therefore all claims have to be made in a written form by email, no later than 14 days after the first delivery attempt. If the customer has chosen to deliver the package at a parcelshop or it’s been delivered to a parcelshop, it must be picked up within 24 hours for the health guarantee to be applicable.

**Only damage that has occurred during shipping can be eligible for any sort of compensation. Any damaged that has been done by its new owner can never be a part of any compensation. We therefore recommend to leave the plant as it is, don’t touch it further before we’ve given a solution. If a plant has been cut, repotted or dealt with otherwise you loose any right of compensation. Compensations will not be given for reasons as ‘I changed by mind’ or ‘The plant doesn’t look the same as in the photo’ etc.

Do I get the plant from the photo?

The photos shown in the shop are only as example. Of course we try our best to have accurate photos available. However the external condition of the plant may vary from the image shown in this page.
