How to care for your Croton Mrs Iceton?
Croton species are those type of plants that love a good amount of light. To let the foliage come out best, Croton Mrs Iceton likes to get bright indirect light. In the morning or afternoon some direct sunshine is fine. When you put your Croton in a spot with too much shade the colorful foliage will fade.
The Croton will thrive when the soil is evenly moist after watering and stays slightly damp. Be careful not to over water the plant, as this may cause root rot. Usually watering the plant once a week should be sufficient.
Croton species do well in a place with a slightly higher than average humidity level. Try keeping it at a minimum of 60%, preferable a little bit higher. When the humidity drops too low the leaves can become crispy and that would be a shame of the gorgeous foliage.
The growing season is the perfect time to fertilize your Croton Mrs Iceton. In winter time fertilizing is not required. When using a fertilizer always read the instructions on the bottle before using.
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Generally repotting your Croton every year should be sufficient.
The Croton is toxic for humans and animals when ingested.
