How to care for your Amydrium Zippelianum?
Amydrium Zippelianum can best be placed in a spot with some indirect sunlight, or even a spot with a bit more shade. The plant doesn’t really tolerate too much bright light, so always make sure the light it gets is filtered.
Amydrium appreciates a medium amount of watering. It should be sufficient to water the plant once a week (of course depending on your local climate). Make sure the soil is evenly moist and don’t let it dry out too much in between watering.
The Amydrium Zippelianum likes an airy soil mix which is well draining. Try using perlite and pine bark with coco coir to keep light. If you don’t like the hassle of making your own soil you can try using our Deluxe aroid mix.
To keep your plant in ultimate condition it is advisable to keep the humidity a bit above average. Your Amydrium Zippelianum will be grateful with a humidity of about 60% to 70%.
Fertilizing your plants in the growing season is always a good idea. It will give your plant some needed nutrients to continue to grow beautifully. Always reed and follow the instructions on your bottle of fertilizer for the proper using method.
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Generally repotting your Amydrium every other year should be sufficient.
The Amydrium is toxic for humans and animals when ingested.
