How to care for your Aeschynanthus Pink Polka?
Aeschynanthus are a bit like Hoya when it comes to care instructions. Aeschynanthus like bright but indirect light throughout the day. Avoid direct sun and fully shaded places for this plant.
In the growing season the Aeschynanthus Pink Polka will probably require some water once a week. As the leaves are kind of waxy, which means they can store water in their leaves to some degree. In winter the plant has it resting period. Less frequent watering is then required.
Just like most Aeschynanthus, Aeschynanthus Pink Polka likes a well draining soil mixture. Mixing some coco coir, pine bark and perlite would be ideal. In the shop we have a special Hoya soil mixture which is also perfect for your Aeschynanthus.
Aeschynanthus Pink Polka is a tropical plant which does like a decent amount of humidity to thrive. Try keeping the humidity at around 65% – 70%.
In the summer months you can fertilise the plant once every week. In the colder and winter months no fertiliser is needed. Please always check the instructions on your own fertilizer for the exact instructions.
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season.Aeschynanthus Pink Polka don’t need to be repotted very often. This low maintenance plant is fine with a repot once every 2 years.
Aeschynanthus species are considered non toxic for humans and animals.
